Newsflash: Is this even legal?

Can your real estate agent buy the same home that you’re interested in?We suspect that our agent bought the same house that we loved and lost to another offer. It was our dream house. The reason why we think so is because she recently just shared with us that she moved to the same area where we’re looking for homes. I cant prove it yet but when she started describing the neighborhood, talked about the hike trails and neighbors we were confused because it sounded like the same exact area where we’d like to buy and lost.I hate to accuse anyone of anything until I really know for sure and thats why Im currently in denial and still thinking this is a misunderstanding. But we had to look up on our own. Why is her name and her husbands names listed under that address according to (Whitepages and multiple sites.)?Background: A year and half ago, this house came on the market and I told her I loved it so much, we made an offer with her representing us. We lost the offer to another buyer who made an identical offer.Do you think she was that other buyers? Or is the data online incorrect?We feel so betrayed.
