My real estate agent, who helped me buy the property, is willing to find a tenant for me. However, she wants 5.5% of the leasing contract for the finders fee.For example, if the rent is $1000/mo and the contract is for one year, I would need to pay her $55*12=$660 immediately after she finds the tenant. If the tenant stays for longer than one year, there is no extra charge.Is this 5.5% customary? What is the average cost to find a tenant?
