I live in upstate NY and want to offer someone to buy a piece of their property. It’s an unused horse pasture. It’s about 5 acres. The property is all one parcel so it would have to be subdivided. But I have no idea where to start. Do I get pre-approved for a loan first? If so how much should I have down on a land loan. Do I need a real estate lawyer? Do I need real estate agent? How do I approach the owner? Any guidance is helpful.
