I’m working on identifying a seller’s agent for my property. Is there some sort of standard listing contract length? Or red flags to watch out for?I have an agent (flat fee brokerage) telling me he does 6 months, and said if too short he has to keep adding to MLS if it expires. Is there any merit to this? He said off record we can cancel any time. Should we push for a clause that says the date is 6 months, but we can cancel at will? Or any risks with that? Is the agent just trying to lock us up for 6 months?
