Newsflash: Is using an investment brokerage company to get into flipping houses smart? [Chicago area]

My friends are thinking of flipping houses in the Chicago area while living in a neighboring state and working their regular jobs. They went to a meeting with an inverstment brokerage whose website lists their services as “inventory, lenders, and contractors.” This company has a website and a Facebook page but everything is pretty bland, shows people cashing big checks and pictures of beautiful houses that have apparently been flipped. I can’t find any reviews or anything else about this company. I don’t want to be the screen door on my friends’ submarine…but am I right to be skeptical? And if this company is legitimate, is this a good way to get into flipping homes? Ultimately, I’m just worried my friends are going to be taken advantage of.
