So recently I’ve been investigating the viability of funding real estate development projects though the EB 5 investor visa program offered in the U.S. I’m curious to see if anyone on this sub has attempted such a project and if they could share some of their insights and difficulties.It’s hard to find reliable resources that clearly define how a project is able to qualify for an EB 5 investor.The set up I have in mind would be using EB 5 money as a private loan to be used for the development of a real estate project. I can’t quite figure out the 10 jobs created requirement of the program. Is it 10 jobs created per EB 5 investor? What defines a created job? Does the construction workers used to work on a building count? Can the EB 5 investors be just a note holder or do they have to participate in some way?Would love to hear from someone on this!
