Newsflash: Brokers agent v buyers agent

Found out yesterday when we finally got a NYS disclosure form from ‘our’ realtor who has been showing us homes for the past month or so that they are not in fact acting as a buyers agent, but rather a brokers agent acting in the interests of the seller. He works for a different firm than all the listing agents for the homes we have seen thus far.Is this an important distinction, and should we be looking elsewhere for representation in this matter?
