Newsflash: Interested in Real Estate Development and Historic Preservation but not sure where to start

Hi everyone,I graduated with a degree in historic preservation about 6 years ago, and for the last 3 I’ve been working at a preservation consulting company. We work mainly with large developers, helping them rehabilitate older buildings so that they can take advantage of preservation tax credits. I’m interested in getting into THEIR line of work, but I’m not sure where to start learning about the business side of things, and the development industry in general.I was wondering if any of you could point me in the direction of some beginner resources to learn more about development. My goal would be to study up on these things and possibly start marketing myself to development companies as someone that could help them with the preservation tax credit program without having to hire an outside consulting company. So I’m looking for A) books, blogs, videos, etc. to learn about the business of real estate development (I realize it’s probably very complicated, but I’m willing to study), and B) realistic expectations when I’m looking for jobs in that field (Is this idea even feasible? Would a development company even be interested in someone with my experience?)Thanks in advance for any help
